TERRACINA SURGERY CENTER
REDLANDS, CA
Situated in a stylistically eclectic context, the design draws more from regional antecedents than any response to the immediate surroundings. Such “cultural archeology” led to reinterpreting Redland’s Spanish Revival heritage.

Using a “belvedere” at the second floor, the building follows the programmatic transition from privacy at the street to openness at the second story. Internally, the facility bifurcates into two distinct areas: an examination practice and a Medicare-certified operatory.

Natural light and warm materials—more indicative of a health spa—reflect the Doctor’s desire that the facility be a place of warmth, friendliness and compassion.
